OWL – Open Water Lifeguard Qualification – 3 Day Course
Maximum of Candidates on course will be 5 to adhere to Covid19 restrictions.
First Day – Sunday 20 September 9 – 5 PM
Second Day – Saturday 26 Septembert 9 – 5 PM
Third Day – Sunday 27 Septembert 9 – 5 PM
INFORMATION ABOUT THIS AWARD
The Open Water Lifeguard (OWL) qualification aims to keep the rapidly increasing number of open water swimmers in the UK safe. This is the three-day, full OWL qualification, for new candidates that don’t currently hold a Lifeguard qualification. You will learn all the skills needed to provide supervision and rescue cover for planned, organised and risk-assessed activities in open water (still non-tidal).
Must be 16 years of age at the date of assessment. Be able to meet the following criteria: Confident in open water, Able to swim at least 400 metres in a pool/ open water swimming continuously on their front and showing urgency, Able to submerge under the water confidently
WHAT TO BRING
Swimming gear – costume/trunks
Towel, shower gel
2 x bright swimming hats
Shorts and t’shirt to go in the water
Footwear to go in the water
Warm clothing – inc hat and gloves
