Fly Fishing Update -November
Fly Fishers were itching to return after a long warm summer, we managed to restock and reopen on Tuesday 15th October. With the water temperature whizzing down we were able to offer a Catch and Release Ticket alongside the Catch and ‘Keep’ ticket pretty early on.
We have hosted one competition, the Single Fly which was magnificently attended by 11 fly fishers. A good competition with competitive camaraderie, a little rain, a little sunshine, a little wind, a few flies left in branches, a few fish took off with the fly. A lot of banter and good humour –
Mr Michael Sinclair retains the cup, this is the fourth year he has won it. Congratulations Mike we all love a humongous!!

The next eagerly awaited competition is the classic winter favourite The Mystery Partner in memory of our dear friend and colleague Mr Pat Taylor on Sunday 8th December 8.00 am – 2 .pm full details here. The Icicle Challenge will be held on Sunday 29th December details here
We have hosted a Learn How to Fly Fish and a Novice Supported Fly Fish session which have been keenly enjoyed. Great to see fish being caught on Supported Session. The next Learn How to Fly Fish session is on December 14th and January 11th with a Supported session on January 25th
We continue to top up with Rainbows on a weekly basis, the water being a frisky 5.5 degrees Celsius with a gin like clarity the Rainbows are having a ball.
We look forward to welcoming you.
