Open Water Swiming Introduction Session

Duration 1 hours – cost per person £25

A session that aims to introduce swimmers, with a little or no experience, to the pleasures of open water swimming.

The sessions are run by member of water safety team plus  with safety team present on the water

The session will take place on lakeside and for those keen to get in, in the lake. Changing will be lakeside, please bring swim kit, warm clothes, we will provide a warm drink and flapjack

Description

A 60 minute private session, maximum of 15 participants.  £25

Suitable as a refresher, and to all those embracing open water swimming for their first season

A fully informed swimmer is one that is aware of safe practises, what to do before, during and after their swim, one who understands what is happening to their bodies whilst in open water. Being fully informed reduces anxiety, panic, stress. Knowing you have a fully trained and experienced Water Safety Team both on and off the water helps to reassure all who swim with us.

A private session, Introduction to Open Water Swimming participants only will be in the water (max of 15 people) maintaining a  sense of peace and tranquillity, giving all the space to enhance confidence and enjoy our little oasis .

We will cover:-

Theory

  • Brief introduction to Swimmer physiological response to Cold Water,
  • Swim kit
  • Safety when open water swimming -from swimmers and operators perspective.

In water practical

  • Entry
  • Acclimatisation
  • Circuit and depth familiarization
  • Exit

Change and revise / questions with a warm drink and Flapjack.
